DOCUMENTARY FILM DESCRIPTION
This documentary follows Wuaykako,
a Colombian mestizo in search for his ancestral identity seeking redemption from his past. Caught between two worlds, the primitive-ancestral and modern-technological, Wuaykako returns to his roots in the sacred mountains of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta located 18,000 feet above Colombia’s Caribbean coast. In these sacred lands, reside Native Indian tribes whose roots and lifestyle date back to the 1st Century. Their belief of keeping the entire planet in balance by preserving their mountain home, inspired Wuaykako to return to the city of Bogota to launch a global social consciousness movement to listen to the Voice of Mother Earth “La Voz de la Madre Tierra” in an emerging post-violent Colombia.
